Oz The Great and Powerful Destroy's Box Office with $80 million

Oz the Great and Powerful , the prequel to The Wizard of Oz, accompanied by an Alice in Wonderland style tie-in, paid off magically as Disney, again, hits the sweet spot: the money spot.

Expect Oz to stay strong throughout the next coming weeks, as the competition seems fairly weak in comparison.

And as expected, last week's number one film, Jack the Giant Slayer, tumbled, tripped, fell, from the beanstalk, to over 60% for a distant second ($10 million).  It will have a tough time turing a profit against it's $195 million budget.
