Furious 7 Tops Fourth Weekend

Furious 7 took the top spot at the box office for the fourth weekend in a row ($18.3 million) for a domestic total of $320.5 million.  It has also surpassed $1 billion overseas, making it only the third movie to do so (behind Avatar and Titanic).  With a worldwide total of $1.3 billion, Furious 7 is the 5th biggest movie of all time, and should over take Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2's $1.341 billion fairly soon for fourth place.

In other news, Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron grossed over $201 million overseas, a week ahead of it's release in North America.  It's tracking way ahead of the original Avengers film.

Furious 7 Takes Third Weekend in a Row

Furious 7 claimed the top spot at the box office ($29.1 million) for the third weekend in a row.  It's also the first movie of 2015 to surpass the $1 billion mark worldwide ($1.152 billion).  It is now the 7th highest grossing film of all time.

Newcomer, Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 took in a decent $24 million for second place.  In other words, good news for movies that get 0% Tomatometer (Yes, 0%… no, really), because you still can make money.

The weekend's other new release, Unfriended made $16 million, which against it's reported $1 million budget, is impressive… and will probably light the way for sequels.
