Jurassic World Obliterates Record Box Office Expectations

That's right you heard it here first, or second (or third)… Jurassic World over-performed this weekend as it debuted to a dinosaur crushing $204.6 million! Making it the biggest debut of the year, so far.  Also, it is just a few million shy of the $207.4 million opening weekend record set by The Avengers back in 2012.  It also has made $307 million overseas, taking it's worldwide total to $511.8 million. In other words, Universal Studios is having a great year.

UPDATE!: Final tallies for Jurassic World: $208.8 million. Meaning it has broken The Avengers box office record for the biggest opening weekend ever.  The spotlight for 2015 was on Age of Ultron and Star Wars, when we should have been paying attention to Furious 7 and Jurassic World. Well, played Universal... Well played.
