Terminator and Magic Mike No Match For Jurassic World and Inside Out

Just like the past couple of weekends, 4th of July was a battle between Jurassic World ($30.9 million) and Inside Out ($30.1 million). The race is too close to call and will come down to the final tally on Monday.

Terminator: Genisys opened to a soft $28.7 million, considering it is the lowest debut in franchise history since the first Terminator film.  All is not lost for the reported $155 million film, as it it has already made $85 million overseas.

Magic Mike XXL ($11.6 million) debuted to a strong Wednesday ($9.3 million) due to an unheard of 96% female audience attendance, but managed to slip throughout the weekend.

In other news, Jurassic World ($1.385 billion) surpassed Avengers: Age of Ultron ($1.384 billion) to become the 5th highest grossing film of all time. It now sits right behind Universal's other 2015 film Furious 7 ($1.512 billion).
