Boo! A Madea Halloween Scares the Competition with $27.6 million Debut

It was a close finish, but in the end,  Tyler Perry's Boo! A Madea Halloween captured the top spot with $27.6 million.  While the Tom Cruise vehicle Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, came in second with $23 million.

The Horror flick Ouija: Origin of Evil came in third with $14.1 million, making it an instant success against it's reported $9 million budget. Albeit it opened less than the $19.9 million debut of it's predecessor.

As for the comedy with some-action movie Keeping Up with the Joneses, it couldn't keep up with the rest of the newcomers as it debuted in 7th place with $5.6 million and will have a hard time recouping it's reported $40 million budget.
