The Girl on the Train vs The Birth of a Nation vs Middle School

A few new movies hit theaters this weekend.

The Girl on the Train
Hit Factor: Seems to be going for that Gone Girl audience.
Flop Factor: with mediocre reviews (51% Tomatometer) it may miss the mark.

The Birth of a Nation
Hit Factor: Won audience and Grand Jury prize at Sundance and was subsequently bought for $17.5 million, the largest deal ever at that festival.
Flop Factor: The director and co-writer's controversial rape charges (though acquitted) may deter movie goers.

Middle School
Hit Factor: Low budget kids movie.
Flop Factor: Seems content with getting a small share of the box office.

My Predictions:

Girl on the Train
Miss Peregrine's Home for...
Deepwater Horizon
Birth of the Nation
Magnificent Seven
Weekend Gross (millions)
