Moana Makes it 3 Weekends in a Row with $18.8 Million

Moana held on to the top spot for the third weekend in a row ($18.8 million) as newcomer, Office Christmas Party ($17.5 million) came close.

Moana has already made $145 million domestically and is actually tracking ahead of what Frozen did three years ago... Though, Frozen was kind of an aberration, so, I'll try to leave that out of the comparison (too late).

Everyone is talking about (well, maybe just the indie film industry) La La Land, this weekend.  It has grossed $850,000 and is the second biggest per theater gross ($171,000) behind Grand Budapest Hotel ($202,000). That sounds like some really expensive tickets... I don't know how they come up with these numbers... I just report them. La La Land should do well when it expands especially with the awards buzz it's getting.
