Hidden Figures Holds on to Top Spot for Second Weekend in a Row

Hidden Figures held on to the top spot with $20.5 million to make it two weekends in a row (last weekend's final tally has it just nipping Rogue One for the top spot by $800 thousand.) It has already grossed $54.8 million.

This weeks number 2, La La Land, received a post Golden Globe's congratulatory bump ($14.5 million).  It has now made $74.1 million, and $128.8 million worldwide.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, is now just a hair short of $500 million domestically ($498.9 million) and should past the $1 billion mark worldwide pretty soon.  Rogue One is also now the highest grossing movie of 2016 domestically, surpassing Finding Dory's $486.3 million.

Shall we talk about the newcomers? I guess...
Surprisingly, the movie that I've not heard anything about, The Bye Bye Man, made $13.4 million... which is the highest of the newcomers and other films going into wide release.

Yes, you read right...
This movie made more than Mark Wahlberg's Patriots Day ($12 million), the $125 million dud Monster Trucks ($10.5 million), Sleepless ($8.5 million), and Ben Affleck's Live By Night ($5.4 million). Yes, a Ben Affleck directed and starring film, made $5.4 million.  Doesn't exactly instill confidence for the next Batman film he's directing and starring in.  I also won't talk about much of Martin Scorsese's film Silence, since it opened in under 800 theaters.  Though, in 16th place ($1.9 million), I'm pretty sure they're kinda disappointed.
