The third installment of the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise, Fifty Shades Freed, easily topped the box office this weekend with $38.8 million. It's down a bit from the last two outings ($85.2 million and $46.6 million). It has also grossed a strong $98 million overseas for an early worldwide total of $136.9 million.
Peter Rabbit came in second with a good $25 million finish and the Clint Eastwood flick The 15:17 to Paris came in third with $12.6 million.
In worldwide news, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle ($881.8 million) slipped past Spider-Man: Homecoming ($880.2 million), to become Sony's biggest worldwide hit of 2017.
