Venom Takes Second Weekend with $35.7 million

Venom easily remained at the top spot ($35.7 million) this weekend at the box office.  It's bad reviews weren't enough to falter this new franchise/spinoff for Sony, which also took in $69.7 million overseas for a foreign total of $253.3 million so far.  It's worldwide total now stands at $378.1 million.

A Star is Born held strong in second place with $28 million, upping it's domestic total to $94.2 million.

Newcomer, First Man, staring Ryan Gosling and from La La Land director Damien Chazelle, came in third place with $16.5 million... much under expectations. We'll see if the awards season buzz will give this movie a push.

Goosebumps 2 came in 4th ($16.2 million) and Bad Times at The El Royale came in at an underwhelming 7th ($7.2 million).
