Avengers: Endgame Dusts Titanic with $2.2 billion Total Worldwide

Avengers: Endgame easily dominated the box office in it's second weekend with $145.8 million... upping it's domestic total to $619.7 million.  However, despite a large second weekend, it is just short of the record $149.2 million from Star Wars: The Force Awakens' second weekend take (it opened during Christmas).  So, this will get interesting, as we'll see if it can surpass The Force Awakens' total domestic hall of $936.7 million.

Endgame took in $282.2 million overseas this weekend, which helped it's worldwide total rise to $2.189 billion.  Yes, that's over $2 billion in it's second weekend in release.  This surpasses Titanic's worldwide total of $2.188 billion to become the 2nd highest grossing film of all time.  Next up, king of the box office, Avatar, who stands at $2.788 billion.  This is going to be a close one... for both domestic and worldwide records, as the box office will start to get a little bit crowded with the likes of Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, John Wick: Parabellum, Aladdin, and Godzilla: King of the Monsters being released in the next few weeks.

In other words, Disney (since the purchase of 20th Century Fox) now owns the 5 biggest box office movies of all time: Avatar ($2.788 billion), Avengers: Endgame ($2.189 billion), Titanic (co-financed with Paramount)($2.188 billion), Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($2.053 billion), Avengers: Infinity War ($2.048 billion). They also have 8 out of the top 10.
